The Company
The Morgadio de Vale Benfeito dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries and includes land in the parishes of Macedo de Cavaleiros, Carrapatas, Cortiços, Grijó, Vale Benfeito and Romeu, all in the north-east of Trás-os-Montes. Carlos Alberto Pereira, great-great-grandson of the last Morgado de Macedo, is preserving his rural legacy in Vale Benfeito, maintaining, expanding and modernising the area dedicated to olive and almond growing.
The Product
Solar de Vale Benfeito’ olive oil guarantees the organoleptic qualities of excellence typical of an olive oil from Trás-os-Montes, where traditional olive varieties such as “madural”, “verdeal”, “cordovil” and “cobrançosa” are used. This extra virgin olive oil is therefore obtained from these olive varieties using exclusively mechanical processes. Both the olive grove and the almond grove are in the process of ‘organic’ production.
