Ginginha Transmontana – Ribeira do Azibo

Country: Portugal

Ginjinha is a liqueur obtained from the maceration of cherry fruit, similar to cherry, very popular in Portugal.
Sour cherries require similar growing conditions to pears, that is, they prefer rich, drained and moist soil, although they need more nitrogen and water than sweet cherries.
The liqueur, in a dark red tone, has the bittersweet flavor of cherries and may or may not contain the fruit inside.
The tastiest are those that continue to be made in an artisanal way and using natural ingredients that give the drink greater quality, while maintaining the true flavor of the fruit.
