The Company

Guarda21 began in 2015 as a way to protect natural resources, promote a circular economy and add value to local products. Preserving all the characteristics of freshly harvested fruits and vegetables is the goal of Ludovina Margarido, the company’s owner. The name itself, Guarda 21, originates not only from being based in the towering city of Guarda but also from their mission as guardians of culture, tradition, knowledge and flavors combined with innovation.

The Products

Under this brand, we can find a wide variety of products made from the farm’s fruits and vegetables, such as jams, preserves, juices, herbal infusions, spices, dried fruits, cakes, olive oil and more. Guarda21 is rigorous in its product selection. The jams, handcrafted, are produced without any artificial colors or preservatives, using natural aromas and less sugar. It use fruits and vegetables from its own gardens and orchards, where no chemicals, pesticides or insecticides are used, or it work with partners who meet its quality requirements, paying them a fair price for their work. To preserve biodiversity and combat food waste, it choose for eco-friendly packaging and smaller versions, such as 140g jars.
