The producer
Reetan Hunaja’s beekeepers take care of the bees that produce delicious honey in Ristiina, Mikkeli. They have been caring for bees since 2016, they cooperate with berry and fruit farms in the area, taking our bees to the farms to help pollinate them. They believe that by taking care of bees, we can have a positive impact on the state of our environment and be part of our country’s food security. During the beehive in Ristiina, by meadows, plantations, streams and the shores of Lake Saimaa. The diverse vegetation and varied growing areas make the honey taste good: all of their honeys are pure natural products, and nothing is added or removed from them. Reetan Hunaja’s selection includes honey for every taste: soft, naturally crystallising and in a squeezable bottle.
The products
Reeta’s three GEOfood honey varieties — Astuva, Yövesi, and Louhivesi — are premium Finnish honeys crafted with care. Each is named after its geological environment, serving as a tribute to the nature of the Saimaa region and to the ancestors whose legacy continues to nourish us.
