The Company

Welcome to the Waffle Café at Tiittala Manor to taste a piece of the unique nature and cultural heritage of Sulkava and Lake Saimaa. With us, every bite tells a story! At the heart of our Tiittala Manor’s Waffle Café’s waffles or dishes are the ingredients, which come from local producers. Wheat flour from Rapio Mill’s stone mill and free-range eggs from Muurahaismäki Farm.

The classic of sweet waffles – the Strawberry Waffle – is topped with fresh strawberries from a nearby Kulmala farm or traditional strawberry jam from their berries, paired with our house-made creamy vanilla ice cream. For a more savory appetite, we offer a salty waffle filled with the fresh caught Kalakontti smoked vendace from the close, Saimaa pure and nearby waters. In appreciation of local history and nature, we’ve selected the following items as GEOfood dishes: Vendace Waffle (60% GEOfood ingredients) A taste journey to the shores of Lake Saimaa! Filled with Kalakontti’s smoked vendace, pickled red onion, traditional pickled cucumbers, dill crème and lemon. Burger Waffle (60% GEOfood ingredients) When a waffle meets a burger – a delicious flavor experience is born! Filled with organic beef patty from Hiismäki Farm, Jukola cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, pickled red onion, traditional pickled cucumbers and our house-made garlic mayonnaise. A waffle that satisfies hunger and brings a smile. Strawberry Waffle (70% GEOfood ingredients) The taste of summer at its finest! This classic strawberry waffle features either fresh strawberries from Kulmala Farm or traditional strawberry jam, along with our house-made vanilla ice cream. Rhubarb Crumble Waffle (70% GEOfood ingredients) Filled with sweet and tangy jam made from rhubarb grown in the manor’s garden, crispy oat crumble made from Rapio Mill oats and our house-made creamy vanilla ice cream. A delicious combination of tartness, sweetness and crunchy. Blueberry “Kukko” & House-made Vanilla Ice Cream (70% GEOfood ingredients) This traditional Finnish dessert, mustikkakukko, is made with Rapio Mill rye flour and local blueberries. Served warm with a scoop of our house-made creamy vanilla ice cream. Traditional Meat Pie (60% GEOfood ingredients) Our take on a traditional meat pie with homemade quark-butter dough made with Rapio Mill wheat flour and a juicy filling of organic ground beef from Hiismäki Farm.
